Rod Thomas (English footballer)
Rod Thomas (born October 10, 1970) is an English former footballer. At just 14, he was being hailed as 'the next Pelé' while in Watford's youth set-up, however by 23, he was playing for Carlisle United F.C. in the fourth tier.〔(Treating young footballers like ready meals harms us all, says David James )〕 He played in the 1997 Football League Trophy Final as Carlisle emerged victorious.
